I love the blue and the simplicity of the process. Not all motives look good in blue, but if they do, it makes them special…
For all my Cyanotypes I use the classical Valenta process. I usually print on Arches Platine paper. This is a very good and heavy water-colour paper with a weight of 310 g/m², a slightly off-white colour, and a pretty smooth surface.
Depending on the motive I use different coating techniques. For architecture I mostly use a glass rod but for nature I use a brush very often as well. The coating is usually very smooth and even using a glass rod, while brushing tends to add some structure.
